Will these study materials suffice for CFA Level 1?

Hey everyone! I’m gearing up for the CFA Level 1 exam and I’ve got a stack of books I’m planning to use. I’m wondering if they’ll be enough to cover all the necessary material. Here’s what I’ve got:

  1. Schweser Notes
  2. CFAI curriculum books
  3. A few practice exam books

I’m a bit nervous about whether this is sufficient or if I should be looking for additional resources. Has anyone here passed Level 1 using similar materials? Any advice on what else I might need or if this is overkill? I’m trying to balance thorough preparation with not overwhelming myself. Thanks in advance for any insights!

Your current materials are actually quite comprehensive for CFA Level 1. I passed using a similar setup. The Schweser Notes are great for efficient studying, while the CFAI books provide depth if needed. The key is how you use them.

I’d suggest focusing on Schweser for initial learning, then using CFAI books to dive deeper into challenging topics. Practice exams are crucial - do as many as possible. They help identify weak areas and get you used to the exam format.

One thing that really helped me was creating a study schedule. Break down the curriculum into manageable chunks and stick to it. Also, don’t underestimate the Ethics section - it’s often underestimated but carries significant weight.

Remember, consistent study and lots of practice questions are more important than accumulating more materials. Good luck with your prep!

Hey there, fellow CFA aspirant!

I totally get your anxiety about having enough study materials. I was in your shoes not too long ago! From what you’ve listed, it looks like you’ve got a solid foundation to work with.

Have you thought about supplementing with some online resources? I found platforms like AnalystPrep really helpful for those tricky topics that just wouldn’t stick. Plus, their practice questions were a lifesaver!

One thing that really made a difference for me was joining a study group. It’s amazing how much you can learn from discussing concepts with others. Have you considered finding a study buddy or joining an online CFA community?

Oh, and don’t forget to give yourself regular breaks! It’s so easy to burn out when you’re knee-deep in financial ratios and ethical standards. Maybe try the Pomodoro technique? It worked wonders for my focus.

What’s your study schedule looking like? I’d love to hear how you’re planning to tackle all this material!

those materials should be good enough for level 1. i passed using just schweser and practice exams. the key is doing tons of practice questions and mock exams. dont stress too much about reading everything, focus on understanding the main concepts and formulas. good luck!
