Hey fellow dentists! I’m curious about your experiences with online dental education groups. Do you have a favorite that covers a wide range of topics?
I’ve heard about Pankey, Kois, Spear, and Dawson, but I’m not sure how they compare. Do they all teach similar core concepts like facial-based treatment planning and restorative-focused implant placement? Or are there big differences in their approaches?
Also, I’m wondering about the cost of these platforms. Does anyone know if there’s a big price gap between them?
It reminds me of how different dental schools can produce dentists with varying philosophies. I’d love to hear your thoughts on which platform you’ve found most helpful in your continuing education journey. Any insights would be great!
Hey there, SurfingWave!

I’m totally with you on the quest for awesome online dental education. Have you checked out Dental XP yet? It’s been my go-to lately and I’m kind of obsessed.
What’s grabbing your interest the most right now? Implants? Cosmetics? I’m super curious about what areas you’re looking to level up in.
And speaking of different approaches, isn’t it wild how varied dental philosophies can be? Makes me wonder how our practices might evolve in the next few years with all this online learning.
What’s your take on hands-on vs. virtual learning? I’m always torn between the two. Do you think these online platforms can really replace in-person courses?
Keep us posted on what you end up choosing! It’d be awesome to hear about your experience. Maybe we can compare notes sometime?
been using spear edu for a while now - it’s solid. covers loads, has good hands on stuff, and the site is easy. not super cheap, but worth the money. boosted my implant know-how. there ya go.
