What's the success rate for CFA Level 3?

Hey everyone,

I’m thinking about taking the CFA Level 3 exam. I’ve heard it’s pretty tough, but I’m not sure exactly how hard it is to pass. Does anyone know what the pass rate is for this level? I’d love to hear from people who’ve taken it or know someone who has.

Also, if you’ve got any tips for studying or preparing, that would be awesome. I want to make sure I’m ready when the time comes.

Thanks in advance for any info you can share!

hey iris, i took l3 last year. pass rate was like 52% i think. its tough but doable. key is practice essays and time management. dont underestimate the AM session, its a killer. start early, use mocks, and join study groups. good luck!

The success rate for CFA Level 3 varies from year to year, but it’s generally around 50-55%. This makes it one of the more challenging levels, yet also the final hurdle before earning the charter. In my experience, mastering the essay portion—unique to Level 3—is crucial. Practicing concise, structured responses under timed conditions can make a significant difference. I also found that a strong focus on ethics, with early and dedicated preparation for at least six months, is vital for success. Best of luck with your studies!

Hey Iris! CFA Level 3, huh? That’s exciting! I’m curious, what made you decide to go for it?

From what I’ve heard, the pass rate’s usually hovering around 50-55%, give or take. But you know what? Those numbers don’t tell the whole story. I’ve got a buddy who crushed it on his first try, and he swears by this study method where he’d teach the concepts to his cat. :joy: Sounds crazy, but it worked for him!

Have you thought about your study strategy yet? I’m always fascinated by how different people approach these big exams. Do you have any unique tricks up your sleeve?

Oh, and don’t forget to treat yourself during study breaks. My friend said her secret weapon was actually taking power naps with her study materials under her pillow. Not sure if it helped, but it sure made for some finance-themed dreams!:bar_chart:

Keep us posted on your journey, yeah? Rooting for you! :tada:
