What Do CFA Candidates Do While Anxiously Awaiting Their Results?

Hey fellow CFA hopefuls! Anyone else going crazy waiting for results? I can’t stop checking my email every five minutes. It’s like my finger has a mind of its own on that refresh button!

I’ve been pacing around my room, making up weird scenarios in my head. One minute I’m planning a celebration party, the next I’m googling “jobs that don’t require financial certifications.”

The suspense is killing me! How are you all coping? Are you also obsessively recalculating your potential scores or overthinking every question you remember?

Let’s share our waiting rituals. Maybe it’ll help us feel less alone in this nerve-wracking time. And remember, no matter what happens, we’ve all worked super hard to get here!

Good luck everyone! May the CFA gods be in our favor!

Oh man, I feel you on that email-checking obsession! It’s like we’re all part of this weird, anxious club right now.

I’ve been trying to distract myself by binge-watching finance documentaries. Kinda nerdy, I know, but it helps me feel like I’m still in the game somehow. Plus, it’s way better than staring at the ceiling and second-guessing every answer I put down.

Anyone else find themselves explaining random financial concepts to friends who couldn’t care less? I swear, my roommate now knows more about derivatives than he ever wanted to!

How about we start a thread of the craziest stress dreams we’ve had about the results? I had one where the exam questions turned into actual stocks and started chasing me down Wall Street. :joy:

Hang in there, everyone! We’re all in this rollercoaster together. Anyone want to share their post-results plans? I’m thinking either a fancy dinner out or a day of pajamas and ice cream, depending on how it goes!

lol i feel ya! ive been binging finance podcasts like crazy. tryna convince myself im still learning something useful while i wait. my gf thinks im losing it haha. anyone else keep having nightmares bout showing up to the wrong exam center? mayb we should start a support group for cfa anxiety :joy:

I’ve found immersing myself in work projects to be a surprisingly effective distraction. It’s keeping my mind sharp and reminding me why I pursued the CFA in the first place. When not working, I’ve been revisiting my study materials, not to cram, but to reinforce key concepts. It’s oddly comforting to realize how much knowledge I’ve retained.

I’ve also scheduled a few informational interviews with professionals in roles I’m interested in. It’s helping me stay focused on my career goals, regardless of the exam outcome. The waiting period is an opportunity to reflect on our professional aspirations and plan next steps.

For those struggling with anxiety, I recommend mindfulness exercises or even a short meditation session. It won’t change the results, but it might help manage the stress of waiting. Remember, we’ve all put in tremendous effort, and that alone is an achievement worth recognizing.
