Hi everyone! I’m a certified NCSF trainer who leads group fitness classes. I’m eager to expand my knowledge and skills in the fitness industry. A colleague suggested Kilo’s Program Design course, which got me thinking about other options out there.
Does anyone have experience with good online courses for fitness professionals? I’m particularly interested in program design, but I’m open to other areas too. It’d be great to hear about courses that have helped you level up your training skills or given you new insights into fitness and health.
What courses have you found valuable? Are there any platforms or institutions you’d recommend? I’m ready to invest time and effort into my professional development, so all suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance for your help!
As a fellow fitness professional, I can attest to the value of continuous education. While Kilo’s Program Design course is solid, I’ve found tremendous value in the NASM Performance Enhancement Specialization (PES). It delves deep into functional movement patterns and program design for various athletic goals.
Another course that significantly enhanced my skillset is the Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) certification. It’s a game-changer for understanding joint health and mobility, which has been incredibly beneficial for my group classes.
For a more holistic approach, the Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification is worth considering. It bridges the gap between nutrition and exercise science, providing a well-rounded knowledge base.
Lastly, don’t overlook platforms like ACE or AFAA. They offer a variety of continuing education courses that can help diversify your expertise. Whatever you choose, ensure it aligns with your career goals and client needs.
yo ethan85, check out EXOS Performance Specialist Certification. it’s legit for program design n athlete training. I took it last year n it’s way better than kilo’s stuff. covers everything from assessments to periodization. helped me step up my group classes big time. worth every penny IMO
Hey Ethan85! It’s awesome that you’re looking to level up your fitness education game!

I haven’t tried Kilo’s Program Design course, but I’ve heard good things. Have you considered checking out Precision Nutrition? Their coaching certification program is pretty comprehensive and covers a lot more than just nutrition. It dives into behavior change and program design too, which might be right up your alley.
Another one that caught my eye recently is the OPEX CCP (Coaching Certificate Program). It’s pretty intense from what I’ve heard, but it goes deep into individualized program design and business skills for trainers. Might be worth a look?
What kind of clients do you usually work with in your group classes? Are you looking to specialize in any particular area or demographic? That could help narrow down some good course options too.
Curious to hear what you end up choosing! Keep us posted on your learning journey, yeah?
