Hey everyone,
I’m a recent CA graduate and have just wrapped up the CFA Level 3 exam (results pending). While searching for a job, I discovered an opportunity at a prominent bank for a corporate relationship manager role offering a 14.5L salary.
The catch is that this role does not closely align with my academic background in finance and accounting. I’m curious if taking up this front-end focused position is a smart career move or if I should continue searching for roles that better fit my qualifications.
Any insights from those with similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
ey mate, taking that job could be a smart move. yeah, it might not use all ur fancy CA n CFA skills right away, but it’ll teach ya how to deal with clients. Plus, 14.5L ain’t bad for a starter gig. you could always move to a more finance-heavy role later. Just make sure theres room to grow in the company.
As someone who’s been in the finance industry for a while, I’d say the corporate relationship manager role could be a solid stepping stone.
While it may not directly utilize your CA and CFA knowledge, it offers valuable exposure to client interactions and the banking sector.
The 14.5L salary is decent for a starting position, but don’t let that be the sole deciding factor. Consider the potential for internal mobility within the bank, as many institutions prefer to promote from within, which might open doors to more finance-focused roles later.
That said, if you’re set on immediately applying your technical skills, it might be best to continue your search. Diverse experience is often an asset in the long run, so whichever path you choose, ensure it aligns with your career goals and offers ample room for growth.
Hey there, fellow finance enthusiast!
I gotta say, your situation’s got me super curious. Have you thought about how this role might open up some unexpected doors?
Sure, it’s not a perfect match for your CA and CFA skills right off the bat. But man, imagine the network you could build!
Corporate relationship management is all about connecting with big players in the business world. That could be gold for your future, ya know!
But here’s what I’m really wondering - what’s your gut telling you? Are you excited about the idea of working directly with clients? Or does the thought of not crunching numbers all day make you a bit antsy?
Oh, and have you had a chance to chat with anyone who’s done this kinda role before? Their insights could be super valuable.
Anyway, whatever you decide, I’m rooting for you! Keep us posted on what you end up doing, yeah? It’d be awesome to hear how it all pans out for you.
