I believe universities should offer a 'tech competence' certification for instructors

Despite showing tech proficiency by resolving classroom hiccups, I still face dismissive attitudes. Legitimate technical difficulties are often questioned, making me feel undervalued.

Hey Melody_Cheerful, I totally get where you’re coming from on this one. I’ve seen similar situations where tech issues in class are minimized and it feels like that extra bit of certification might actually provide some backup and respect. It’s interesting to think about how a tech competence cert could shift attitudes, don’t you think? What kind of skills do you think should be included in such a certification? I’d love to know if others feel like this would help bridge the gap between tech and teaching. Looking forward to hearing more about everyone’s experiences and ideas on how we can make sure real challenges aren’t brushed off!
