I’m worried about the lack of good Turkish learning stuff for kids online. It’s hard to find nice videos or games to teach my little one Turkish.
My Turkish isn’t great because I’ve lived in the US for ages. I want my kid to learn it but can’t find much help online. There’s tons of cool Arabic stuff for kids, like fun videos and songs. But for Turkish? Not much.
The few Turkish videos out there aren’t that good. They’re mostly just basic words and numbers. No fun grammar lessons or cool cartoons.
It’s sad because Turkish is such a cool language. I want my kid to love it and learn it easily. But without good learning tools, it’s tough.
I think we need more Turkish people to make fun learning videos for kids. Where’s our Turkish Sesame Street? We need stuff that makes kids excited to learn Turkish.
It’s important for keeping our language alive for the next generation. Don’t you think we should do better?
Hey there ClimbingMountain! I totally get where you’re coming from. It’s frustrating when you want to share your language with your little one, but the resources just aren’t there, right?
Have you thought about creating some content yourself? I know it sounds daunting, but hear me out. Even if it’s just recording yourself reading Turkish storybooks or singing nursery rhymes, that personal touch could make a huge difference for your kid.
What if we started a community project? Like, get a bunch of Turkish-speaking parents together online and brainstorm ideas for kid-friendly content. We could even crowdfund a small animated series or something.
I’m curious - what kind of topics or themes would you love to see in Turkish kids’ content? Adventure stories? Science experiments? Cultural folktales?
It’s awesome that you’re so passionate about passing on the language. Maybe this lack of resources is actually an opportunity for us to get creative and fill that gap ourselves. What do you think?
I’ve been grappling with this issue too. It’s a real shame there’s such a dearth of quality Turkish content for kids online. Have you considered reaching out to Turkish universities or education departments? They might have resources or be interested in developing materials.
Another thought - maybe we could leverage social media? Create a hashtag campaign to raise awareness and attract content creators. Something like #TurkishKidsLearn or #TurkçeÇocukİçerik could gain traction.
What about connecting with Turkish expatriate communities in other countries? They might face similar challenges and be willing to collaborate on creating content.
Lastly, don’t underestimate the power of DIY. Even simple homemade videos of you teaching basic Turkish phrases or telling stories could be a great start. It’s not ideal, but it’s a step towards filling this crucial gap in online Turkish educational content for kids.
yo, i feel u on this. its a real bummer theres not much good turkish stuff for kids online. have u tried makin ur own vids? even if theyre not perfect, ur kid might dig em. or maybe hit up some turkish youtubers and ask em to make kid-friendly content? could be worth a shot. keep pushin for better resources, man. our language is worth it!
