I’m about to receive a job offer from a boutique wealth management firm. The position is for an advisor/investment analyst role. They’re looking for someone with CFA and CFP credentials to manage client accounts, handle portfolios, and do some business development.
The firm is pretty small. It’s just the owner (who’s around 60 and a CFA) and three operations staff. I’m a bit concerned because the owner didn’t mention anything about succession planning.
I’m not sure what to ask for salary-wise or what important questions I should bring up. While I’d love to eventually buy the business, that’s probably way down the road. What should I focus on right now?
