I’m a facilitator working in the Learning & Development arena and am considering a shift toward Instructional Design. With a background in graphic design, I find the prospect of designing learning experiences intriguing since it seems less directly focused on end users compared to my current role. I’m weighing the advantages of mastering either Articulate 360 or Captivate and wonder how others have successfully learned these tools. What methods did you use to become proficient in Articulate 360 and/or Captivate?
Hey GracefulDancer8,
I’ve been down a similar path recently, and your question really got me excited about the possibilities! I dove into both Articulate 360 and Captivate a while back, and honestly, what worked for me was just getting hands-on and not being afraid to make mistakes along the way. I spent a lot of time experimenting with different project settings and taking on small challenges that pushed me to explore new features. It felt really rewarding when a plugin or a hidden feature finally clicked for me. I got a lot out of online communities and even reached out to a few experienced designers for tips. I’m curious, what kind of projects are you thinking about creating? Have you thought about what kind of themes or interactive elements might resonate with your audience? I’d love to hear how you envision merging your graphic design background with these new tools. Let’s keep the conversation going! ![]()
