Duolingo’s Rapid Decline in User Experience!

Within one year, Duolingo shifted from supportive language learning to overwhelming users with nagging notifications and guilt-inducing marketing. Is this change justified?

i think the new push is more about cash than teaching. im kinda over the constant popups and guilty nudges. it feels annoying instead of motivating and maybe even hinders learning a bit.

Hey folks, I couldn’t agree more on how things are shifting over there. I remember when Duolingo used to feel more like a gentle guide rather than a persistent alarm clock that’s always trying to remind me I haven’t completed my lesson. It honestly makes you wonder if the added features are all about keeping you engaged or just riding on a more aggressive marketing wave. Do you think there’s a way they could balance staying helpful yet not overbearing? I’m curious how others feel about these changes – maybe there’s a sweet spot that hasn’t been hit yet?
